About This Spot
Italian Village Restaurant & Pizza welcomes you like a familiar neighborhood gathering spot, where the hum of conversation melds with the aroma of simmering sauces and freshly baked bread. Nestled on Philadelphia Avenue in Chambersburg, this cozy yet lively eatery invites a comfortable pace where friends and families settle in around sturdy tables, ready to share moments over warm plates and simple pleasures.
Stepping inside, you feel the warmth of an Italian street café thoughtfully reimagined—modest in size but generous in heart. The dining room, filled with inviting booths and well-crafted seating, carries an easygoing energy that is at once bustling and personal. It’s a place where the joyful clatter of plates and cheerful chatter create a vibrant backdrop, especially when groups gather for lively meals or quiet celebrations unfold at smaller tables.
The menu here is a celebration of familiar favorites, crafted with an emphasis on comforting, honest flavors. Whether you’re drawn to the satisfying richness of a stuffed crust pizza or the classic charm of a chicken parmesan sub, each dish feels thoughtfully prepared, embodying that home-cooked sense of care without fuss. The appetizers, like the loaded potato skins or crisp salads brightened by fresh vegetables and herbs, offer flavorful bites that set the tone for the meal. And those homemade breadsticks—soft, warm, and just a touch garlicky—have a way of making even a casual dinner feel a little special.
Service at Italian Village flows with a friendly attentiveness that leaves you feeling seen and welcomed, without ever being rushed. The staff’s genuine warmth adds to the overall sense of ease, whether you’re dining in or picking up a takeout order. Though the space can fill quickly—especially when larger parties bring their own joyous energy—the overall mood remains inviting, a testament to the team’s smooth rhythm and the community’s love for this local gem.
This is not just a meal, but a friendly, down-to-earth experience where the simple act of sharing Italian comfort food becomes a quietly memorable part of your day.

Absolutely delicious. One of the best Italian restaurants in the area for sure. The spaghetti with meat sauce was excellent and their homemade breadsticks are the best! The potato skins are more like a loaded baked potato but are also very good. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very nice and efficient. Highly recommend.

My wife got the Chicken Chesapeake and I got the Chicken Marsala. Both were very tasty and decent size portion and they were both around $20 a plate. It came with a nice salad and bread for each. The inside was well decorated, however it was pretty small and felt a little crowded. Since the dining area is one large room, it did get a little noisy whenever you had larger parties come in. Especially those who had younger kids. The wait staff was very friendly and did an excellent job and even gave recommendations when asked. Overall I thought this was a good value for your money and the food quality/quantity.

Phenomenal food and service! Me and my fellow trumpet player Everet went here after a jazz concert and our waitress Grace did an amazing job, and the food tasted absolutely delicious.

Check your take out order before you leave the restaurant!! We really enjoy going to this restaurant. Food is usually very good and plentiful. I ordered take out Spaghetti with sausage. Although the flavor was very good, the amount of spaghetti was half the amount usually served with a dine in portion. Upon a call back, the only reason given was that they were very busy. Sad. Definitely sticking with Giacomos or Rosalie’s.

New Italian Restaurant is a casual but very nice place to eat. The interior is decorated like a street cafe without being chokski. Both sizable booths and plenty of four or six-top tables. Tables and chairs are sturdy, a genuine pleasure from plastic or bendy types elsewhere. Both dine in and takeout. Food is quite good. Normal selection of Italian menu items. The pizza is very nice with luscious cheese and plentiful topping and crispy crust. Chicken parm was crispy and the marinara chunky enough to not drown the parm soggy, Well prepared! Serving staff is polite and well trained. The owners seem to have a good handle on things, leaving one with. Good experience!

Can't believe I have never stopped for food here before. Have passed by hundreds of times. The food here is great. And the prices are very reasonable. Recommend the calzone.

Very good!!There are lots of great Italian food options all over Pennsylvania so generally speaking it is rare that I have had a negative experience. I typically order a Stromboli or pasta with onions peppers and sausage or chicken. In this case they had “sausage, green peppers and onions” on the menu so I ordered that and added chicken too. Served with a side salad and complimentary hot bread, I could not have been more satisfied with the flavor of my meal. For the salad I chose their house vinaigrette which was fantastic!! We had a large group celebrating someone’s birthday and we were all pretty full. One of my brothers ordered the chicken Alfredo and thoroughly enjoyed it and my sister said her “crab Alfredo” was very good. Atmosphere was nice but big issue was their air conditioner had gone out and it was quite warm in there. We had excellent service but their only seemed to be one waitress who was stretched thin.(but did a marvelous job). They were very busy that evening as there were several groups like ours of eight or more.
